Sharp MIT NetWalker PC-Z1

Sharp today issued NetWalker PC-Z1, for cloud computing design of mobile devices, with smart phones portability and high-performance notebook computers.

NetWalker PC-Z1 based on Freescale’s multimedia applications processing i.MX515 device, 5-inch LED-backlit TFT LCD touch screen (resolution 1024 × 600), 512MB of main memory, 4GB flash memory (the actual available about 2GB), microSD / microSDHC memory card slot (maximum capacity of 16GB). support the Wi-Fi 802.11b / g wireless networking, 3.5 mm audio port, USB 2.0 and miniUSB 2.0 port. Battery life time 10 hours.

NetWalker PC-Z1 Sharp special customized version of preloaded Ubuntu 9.04 Smartbook Remix operating system, just three seconds to start. Comes with many software, such as the Firefox browser, Adobe Flash Lite plug-in, Thunderbird mail client, OpenOffice.org office suite and so on.

Sharp also plans to provide various extra content, such as language and professional dictionaries, novels, comic books, create their playing an electronic dictionaries and e-books.

NetWalker PC-Z1 series, black (PC-Z1-B), white (PC-Z1-W), Red (PC-Z1-R) 3 kinds of color, in which the first two first listed on September 25, red version of 10 at the end of follow-up, suggested retail price of ¥ 44,800, the current product is only for the Japanese domestic market.
