Virgin and Universal Music download unlimited MP3 monthly payment

Virgin Media Inc and the Universal Music business cooperation, announced a new music download service. Virgin Medi broadband users pay a monthly fee; you can download an unlimited number of Universal Music’s singer’s music.

Virgin said they were also working with other British independent record labels or artists, publishers to negotiate, to join plans for the service, including EMI, Sony, Warner and so on.

Service will be launched before the end of this year, the monthly rental fee 10-15 pounds, download songs to MP3 format, can be PC, mobile phone or other portable media player to play. Although both sides did not disclose the technical details, but this can easily carry the characteristics of its MP3 downloads without DRM protection.

This model created the ISP to cooperate with the media copyright. According to analysts, said the two sides have made concessions beyond the expectations of each other.
